Regatta’s VP of Delivery Paul Kadanec has over 30 years of technical operations and delivery experience working for companies inside and outside of the technology sector. He has a proven track record of delivering diverse, cost-effective IT solutions for multiple, large enterprise environments. Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and establishing effective processes among competing priorities, Paul’s hands-on approach includes directing and managing technical and development teams. His roles have included VP, Senior Director, Controller and Manager at TIAA, Marriott, Bank of America, Maximus, Xerox, Intralinks, Time Warner Cable, Microsoft, Michelin NA and TechTrain, among others.

How did you get involved with Regatta?

I worked for John Ciulla at Xerox and was asked to come aboard and use my professional services leadership experience to head delivery at Regatta.

What did you major in during college? 

I majored in Radio-Television Broadcasting, Advertising, and Public Relations.

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had? 

My most interesting job was probably when I did some broadcast work. It was several years after graduating from college, so it gave me the opportunity to see if I still remembered what I had learned in school. I had to use a stage name so as not to impact my “day job.”

What does Regatta mean to you? 

RSG means that I can stretch my personal and professional skills and goals to contribute to multiple customers. Regatta is innovative, and I love to be involved in cutting edge work like the Regatta FastTrack platform.

Describe your role at Regatta. 

As VP for Delivery, I am responsible for making sure that our customers needs are balanced with our committed deliverables and that we make the customer successful.

What are the challenges of working in delivery? 

The main challenges are that the committed deliverables may not always be in sync with the customer’s current situation. 

If you could describe IAM in one word, what would it be? 

Peace of Mind (Sorry, 3 words!)

What do you find the most interesting thing about IAM? 

The breadth and scope of what a good IAM solution can do for the customer.

What lasting lesson have you learned from working with Regatta? 

If the customer is successful, you will always have success yourself.

What is your personal philosophy on developing your workforce/team? 

If you treat everyone equally and with respect, then they will work hard for you and the company.

What kind of manager are you? 

I give everyone a fair shake and believe that there is a role that is right for everyone to make them successful; you just have to figure out what that role is.

How would you handle difficult situations/arguments within your team? 

I would have a calm discussion to make the decision that is right for the customer, RSG, and the individual.

Knowing what you know now, would you hire yourself for your job? 

Yes, and I would give myself a raise!

What are you most proud of? 

My son and daughter.

What is the best advice you have ever received? 

Work hard and be fair.

What do you like to do in your spare time outside of work?

I am always at work (not really). I enjoy family time, dinners out, and social time with friends.

Do you watch any sports? If so, who is your favorite team? 

The Green Bay Packers!

What is something you cannot live without? 

Bourbon.

What’s something many people fear that doesn’t scare you at all? 

Failing at something.
