The Hottest Summer Events in Identity Security

Identity Events Blog

Things are officially heating up for summer, and just in time for identity in-person events! As temperatures rise, elevate your own understanding of the latest in IAM and identity security in three hot identity events that are most likely on your calendar. Whether you’re just getting started in identity or you’re a seasoned pro, these discussions are key to understanding and mastering identity security. We hope you’re ready to get fired up and learn about IAM and identity security hot topics this summer — just remember to drink plenty of water!

As you look ahead to the return of in-person events and networking in the IAM space, there are several events we want to highlight coming up that every identity practitioner should consider taking a road trip for.

RSA Identity Security Conference 2022
While this event has already wrapped, you can still log on to the RSA Conference website to watch panels, discussions, and presentations on identity security, cyber intelligence, and more.
When: June 6-9
Where: Moscone Center in San Francisco, Digital
Discussions:
RSA 2022 covered conversations on some of the most challenging, critical identity security issues of the moment. SailPoint CISO Heather Gantt-Evans shared an informative presentation on how cybersecurity disciplines like threat detection and response, product application security, data protection, and training and awareness, all require a strong identity foundation for success. On-demand attendees can also tune into a keynote presented by SailPoint Principal Data Scientist Mo Badawy and Director of Strategy and Standards Mike Kiser on detecting algorithmic bias using open source tools. The talk posed a number of important, thought-provoking questions about algorithms’ impact on humanity, including is it essential to use algorithms ethically, how are the benefits of algorithms known, and when are they perpetuating bias? Be sure to also check out Ping Identity’s presentation on the importance of eliminating passwords for secure authentication, increased productivity, and fewer help desk calls. The talk ends with a roadmap outlining four distinct steps to achieving a password-free environment.

Identiverse Identity Security Conference 2022
Closing the June conference circuit is Identiverse 2022, hosted by Ping Identity. The live conference will bring together some of the top minds in identity security to discuss everything from identity basics to emerging risks like hackers and how to evade them. While this event is sure to focus on forward-thinking identity concepts, Identitiverse is especially known for all the fun it provides attendees! This year is no exception, as Identiverse brings back traditions like bootcamps, yoga, karaoke, and more. Who said identity security had to be boring?
When: June 21-24
Where: Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver

This year’s Identiverse conference is jam-packed with speakers and panels you won’t want to miss, with highlights including a keynote presentation by Ping Identity founder and CEO Andre Durand on meeting your digital twin, or creating a singular representation of every online user. Attendees can also join Meeco founder and CEO Katryna Dow for an important conversation on tokenization and the future of identity. Dow will speak on the path toward tokenization, and how to create the infrastructure for people and their digital twins to participate equitably. Attendees can also join General Motors IAM Enterprise Architect Andrew Cameron for an exciting look at an all-electric future at GM through zero trust and hybrid identity. The keynote will underscore how GM developed a cybersecurity strategy using Identity as a core element in blazing an all-electric trail for the future. Finally, don’t forget to check out global ambassador to Consult Hyperion Dave Birch’s pertinent discussion on identity and the metaverse, a formidable and ubiquitous player in the identity security-verse.

Gartner Identity and Access Management Summit 2022
This foundational, Vegas-based event focuses on empowering IAM teams and support systems to ensure businesses remain resilient in the face of constant change in the identity security field. To help you keep up with the latest trends in identity, the Gartner IAM Summit will provide valuable insights into the evolution of the technology, best practices, opportunities and threats, and changes in organizational priorities and user expectations.
When: August 22 to 24
Where: Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada

Opening the 2022 Gartner summit is an intimate and highly relevant keynote you won’t want to miss aptly titled, “How to Digitally Accelerate When You’re So Freaking Tired” by Gartner Managing Vice President Mary Mesaglio. The session will cover how to keep up with digital acceleration while keeping your people, as well as yourself, safe and whole. Be sure to check out Gartner VP Analyst Peter Firstbrook’s talk on top cybersecurity trends. These “top trends” highlight shifts in the identity security landscape that aren’t widely recognized, lending them the insidious potential to disrupt. You’ll also hear top trends in risk management, how organizations take advantage of them, and how your organization can too.

It sure feels good to be back! The sun is out, the pools are open, and in-person conversations about identity security are back in full swing. We’ll continue to share insights on upcoming identity events as they come along, including one of our annual favorites, the SailPoint Navigate conference.

If you’re looking to start your own IAM project, the Regatta team is happy to connect with you (in person!) at the Identiverse conference or the Gartner IAM Summit. We look forward to connecting with you this summer!
